The Hong Kong Institution of Science (HKIS) was established in 1992, to stimulate science development in Hong Kong and to strengthen connections between scientists in Hong Kong and scientific communities in China mainland, Taiwan and overseas. HKIS has successfully hosted 24 annual conferences since 1992, several symposia and Young Scientist Awards competitions. The 25th annual conference will be held on 2 Dec 2017 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The main theme of this year’s annual conference is smart city development.
Two prominent speakers, Mr. Tie Li from China mainland and Dr. Winnie Tang from Hong Kong, will review the achievements, experience and challenges in smart city developments in China and in Hong Kong .
In addition, the 2017 Young Scientist Awards Competition will also be held at the conference. Six shortlisted candidates from three research streams, including Engineering Science, Life Science & Physical/Mathematical Science will present their research and compete for the final “Young Scientist” awards. All conference participants will be able to vote for the final winners.
Participation in the conference is completely free. Researchers, practitioners and students are all invited to join the conference to learn the latest developments in smart city and other scientific fields.
